Yesterday, on October 10, 2019, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law SB 530, which delays harassment prevention training requirements for temporary workers. Temporary workers now must be trained beginning Jan. 1, 2021; prior to SB 530 being enacted, they had to be trained beginning Jan. 1, 2020.

SB 530, which the legislature passed at the eleventh hour of the legislative session, thus affords staffing firms an additional year before they are required to start providing training to their temporary workers.
